Panglao island is located southwest of the island of Bohol and east and south of Cebu. Panglao has a terrain that ranges from plain, hilly to mountainous. Panglao is made of Maribojoc limestone, the youngest of the limestone units found in the western area of Bohol.
1.Hinagdanan Cave: was believed to be accidentally discovered by a farmer; while clearing his land he found 2 holes, curious, he dropped a stone and heard a splash. He built a ladder “hagdan” and was able to access the cave and found its hidden beauty, thus the origin of the name Hinagdanan.
2.Dauis Church: was founded by the Jesuit priests Fr. Diego de Ayala and Joseph Gregorio. The church was built from a mixture of styles, influenced by both Byzantine and Romanesque architecture.
3.Panglao Church: Known as St. Augustine Church’s, its façade is inspired by neoclassical architecture and includes the typical portico with Corinthian columns.
4.Panglao Watch Tower: is a 5-storey hexagonal tower that was built in 1851.
5.Nova Shell Museum: has one of the world’s biggest seashell collections.
6.The Bohol Bee Farm: is a six-hectare ecotourism destination. Down the rugged perch of the cliff is their restaurant which offers organic delights and healthy green cuisine against the backdrop of the breathtaking Bohol Sea.
